Film
Most recent feature film was Warner Bros Home Fries in 1996 with a cast including Drew Barrymore, Luke Wilson, Catherine O’Hara and Shelley Duvall. Filming was done on location in and around Austin, TX. It involved designing and building a practical drive-thru fast-food restaurant from scratch on a vacant lot as well as mocking up the interior of a Cobra military helicopter.
Boogie Boy, with Emily Lloyd, Frederic Forest and Joan Jett, was shot mostly on location in the high desert, where an existing motel set was dirtied down and converted into an all-but-abandoned Egyptian themed resort. It also involved soundstage interiors of hotel rooms and seedy bar interiors.
Never released in the US, due to producer contractual litigation issues, the cast of loved included Robin Wright, William Hurt, Sean Penn, Amy Madigan and Joanna Cassidy. It required designing a courtroom interior for a soundstage.
The made-for-TV Disney perennial A Mom For Christmas starred Olivia Newton-John as a mannequin who comes to life and Doris Roberts as the display manager / fairy godmother who provides the magic. Vogue provided mannequins in the likeness of cast members and one sequence involved a mannequin driving a Rolls Royce on a madcap spree through a department store. Shot on location in Cincinnati, OH, it also involved the replication of the living room from a historic Victorian home in a warehouse, so that it could be burned when “Mom” lights the candles on the Christmas tree.
